§1 · Who we are

Real people, not a template or a chatbot.

Drafted Legal is a small team built on one idea: founders and small businesses deserve documents written for their actual situation, and written clearly enough that they can understand what they're signing.

We started after watching the businesses around us get stuck between a free template that doesn't fit and a £300/hr solicitor they can't justify. That gap, too small for a law firm but too important to leave to a template, is where we work.

Every engagement starts with questions, not a template. We draft around your actual situation and read every document with legal training, then tell you in plain English exactly what you're signing, for a fraction of what a firm would charge.

Important · please read Drafted Legal is a document drafting service run by a small team. It is not a firm of solicitors, is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and does not provide legal advice. Documents are prepared under the law of England and Wales. Nothing here creates a solicitor-client relationship. You remain responsible for reviewing any document before use, and we recommend taking independent advice from a qualified solicitor before signing or relying on any agreement.

§3 · Why not just use AI?

AI writes fast. It just doesn't know what you forgot to mention.

Ask a chatbot for an NDA and you'll get one in seconds. The trouble is that it only works with what you gave it, and you probably didn't know to mention the jurisdiction, the pre-existing IP, or where a sensible liability cap should sit.

We read every draft the way a solicitor would: looking for the clause that isn't there, the term that's quietly too broad, the protection you didn't know to ask for. Then we tell you, in plain words, what you're signing.

For £60, that's cheap insurance against a document that looks fine until the day it matters.

We ask the questions you didn't expect

We follow up before drafting begins. This is the part that separates a tailored document from a template pulled off the internet.

4.3

Drafting begins

Your document is delivered within 48 hours of us having everything we need. One round of revisions is included at no extra cost.

4.4

Delivered and explained

A plain-English summary arrives alongside the document, so you know exactly what you're signing and why.

§5 · Common questions

Straight answers to the usual questions.

No, and we're upfront about that. Drafted Legal provides document drafting, not legal advice, and we're not qualified solicitors. What we offer is a human-reviewed document, built around your context, at a price that makes sense for an early-stage business. For anything complex or high-stakes, we'll always tell you to involve a solicitor.

You can, and it might be fine. But AI only knows what you tell it, and you usually don't know what to tell it. Which jurisdiction applies? What happens to pre-existing IP? Where should the liability cap sit? We ask those questions before writing a word.

Every engagement includes one free round of revisions. Beyond that, we'll agree a reasonable fee with you before doing anything. No hourly billing, no surprises.

We draft under the law of England and Wales. If your situation involves another jurisdiction, we'll say so upfront and point you to a local specialist if that's the better route.

Yes. Everything you share is treated in strict confidence and used only to prepare your document. If you'd like a confidentiality agreement covering the engagement itself, we'll include one at no extra cost.

§6 · Execution

Let's draft something around your business.

Tell us what you need and a little about your situation. We'll come back within 24 hours, usually with a question or two before we begin.
